Jewish Friend FinderJewishFriendFinder.com is one of the "Friend Finder" group so you know you are dealing with a big company that has a pretty good reputation. This particular site has only been running since 2001 though. The thing they really get you is a huge membership list -- obviously the more people in their list the more likely you are to find your match. They are pretty much focused on people who are actually in the US though they do have lots of international listings as well. A very straight forward free search on the front page takes you directly to listings with pictures. Members who have paid a "gold" fee get listed first but you can scroll through and see everybody. You want to sign up first so you can specify which city you live in, then you can search according to how many Km you are aware from your potential beloved! Note you cannot see details of people or contact them until you register -- that's a free registration just have to give your email address. In my experience with the Friend Finder group I've found them very good, not yet received any spam via those email address used to signup; just a few reasonable newsletters occasionally. The free signup is not as tedious as some other sites. You can choose 'prefer not to say' in most fields to save time but that also means you provide less information for matching. You have to introduce yourself and tell them what you are looking for in writing, each with a minimum of 50 characters.
